Man holds a unique position in our global ecosystem
“Man holds a unique position in our global ecosystem. One can consider man’s position as a liaison between our natural resources and that which man has manipulated to produce his living and working environment. Of course, the environment man produced resulted from a strongly personal agenda, with little initial regard to the sustainability of these natural resources. numerical weather prediction
Man has used natural resources such as air, water, wildlife, trees, and the earth’s minerals to facilitate his social, emotional and physical relationships. He has converted these natural resources into large buildings, homes, cars, trains, airplanes, technology, and a plethora of other “man-made†instruments. These activities, over time, exploited the natural resources used to create them.
It became clear that using up the earth’s natural resources with no regard for replenishment would surely mean the demise of the human race. Thus, man began to switch some of his focus to caring for and extending the life and value of our natural resources.
Man has firmly entrenched himself within the global ecosystem that now depends upon him as much as he depends upon it for survival. Thus, there will continue to be a close relationship between man and his environment for both to succeed.”
